Seastrand is an independent printshop & project space. Launched in 2015 & set for a reboot this summer with a printshop, exhibitions, workshops and small ‘happenings’ from this sea gazing spot. There may also be ice-cream and our famous bakes to tempt you..

the early years

2014-2024

‘With little children in hand, Stu & I redeveloped the old funicular bottom station overlooking Scarborough’s South Bay. A few short months later, we opened our doors to serve fabulous coffee, cake & ice cream. We became a special, secret spot for many.

Throughout the years we hosted exhibitions, events, workshops, live acoustic music, spoken word and heritage talks & it was wonderful.

Around a year ago, I decided to sell the business.

We’d come through COVID & economic craziness with a new perspective. I was determined to concentrate on growing my artistic practice which is how I spent 2024 as the gruelling process of selling a business rolled on.

Then whilst walking on the beach with Stu, I decided to stop everything. I’d had a better idea…’
